Great Witley Church: Access and Parking
 | Arrangements for attending the Church will
normally be as follows, unless you are directed differently.
|
 | Take care that you head for Witley Church
- not to be confused with Witley Court, which has a separate entrance and
car park administered by English Heritage.
|
Driving to the Church
 | If you are driving specifically to the Church - as
distinct from Witley Court - the only access is via one of the original unadopted drives,
as it has always been.
|
Parking for concerts, special
church services and other events
Other advice
 | Allow enough time to park your car and to
walk the short distance to the church. |
 | When conditions are wet, wear stout shoes in case
of puddles or long grass. |
 | Please bring a torch if you will be arriving or
leaving in the dark.
(In recent years two very effective floodlights have been in place on the
tower; regrettably these have had to be removed on the instruction of the
Diocese and the District Planning Committee) |
Footnote
 | The drive from the main road does not belong to the Church and the
Church has no jurisdiction over what happens to it. |
 | It is pleasing to report that recently the section
of the drive from the Great Witley direction has been levelled and pot-holes
filled. This is thanks to the Parish Council, residents and the
commitment of certain individuals, whose constant painstaking efforts have
contributed to a gradual programme of improvement. |
